When Escrima Concepts (EC) went independent to finally teach their complete system, working side-by-side, as equals, with our friends and other martial arts, we all came under some expected flack concerning past politics - this led to different questions from European members.
We reluctantly responded via our web-site to quickly end this reaction. We answered the questions and we have now removed the relevant text.
We want this EC site to consist of information to promote EC, friends and Alliance partners (keep an eye out for new profiles and newsletters) but if any of our members feel the need to know more they can contact us direct when we meet.
We would prefer our members to ignore the politics and enjoy the skills and training of your teachers and friends. Those of us involved know our version of the truth and nothing will change this so it’s best forgotten and to move on.
Individuals who are not members and are curious about past and present politics – we suggest that you ‘MEET US BEFORE YOU JUDGE US’ – you maybe surprised to see that we are friendly, respectful, happy and knowledgeable and you will have a good time with us - but only without the boring politics created by past events.
Remember – if you ask about politics you become involved as YOU keep them alive ;-)
We have tried to resolve politics to establish some kind of harmony only to find ourselves involved deeper in politics – so turning the other cheek does not always work – some people will not change or do not realise what they create due to a defensive nature (which then makes others defensive – making everyone at fault) - others live in the past or have bad (or a lack of) communication skills. It’s difficult to be free of certain politics but sensible people hate bad politics – others live for them – such is life!
If we have any spare time in our busy schedules we now give this to our families, friends and members and in enjoying our future without unnecessary distractions.
This is our current position on politics that do not concern EC business - we will not respond to emails on this and apologise for the need of this type of statement.
