Nic’s introduction to the martial arts world was in the late 1970’ties through the movies of Bruce Lee who inspired Nic to take up martial arts himself. He took up Karate in 1980 and switched between different schools and styles until in 1995 he was introduced to Wing Tsun and Escrima in Copenhagen Denmark where he lives.

Later that year Nic started an honours degree at London Guildhall University, in England where he first met Steve Tappin under whom he started to study Escrima. During his 3-year stay in London Nic opened up a Wing Tsun and Escrima School in Central London, whilst also studying various styles of Kung-Fu and Tae Kwon Do, in which he managed to secure Gold Medals both the London and Oxford Open in 1995 and '96.

After returning to Denmark in 1998 he kept training Wing Tsun and Escrima at the WT Center in Copenhagen, whilst still in regular contact with Steve Tappin. Through Sifu Henning Daverne, Nic had a chance to pursue, test and develop his mental and physical boundaries in the WT Fight Club and in a couple of years managed to get well over 100 registered fights. Along with this many years working the door at different night clubs, has given a valuable insight into peoples psyche and the realism of street fighting and efficient self-defence.

Today Nic works with computer graphics design, web based e-trafficing and rich internet application solutions at his small IT Company and Nic also travels to support Steve Tappin and EC with others in Europe teaching. 

After more than 25 years in martial arts Nic is still progressively expanding his knowledge base with undiminished enthusiasm and therefore devotes most of his time teaching and training Escrima Concepts, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and NHB Shooto, as his competitive nature helps him keeping his edge, resulting in several Copenhagen Open, Scandinavian, European, World Championships and other title fight victories along the way…
