Welcome to 'The Alliance'
We are proud to announce that the Alliance members are now opening their doors to likeminded people who wish to develop and share knowledge in martial arts. Many of our Masters, instructors and students train in Chinese Kung Fu systems. In Escrima Concepts we share the objectives of Master Steve Tappin and his teachers, friends, instructors and students, who together with Wing Tsun Concepts, share a view of helping other systems who wish to join the Alliance too.
What is 'The Alliance?'
The Alliance is a gathering of highly trained and experienced martial artists and independent organisations who want to develop their skills and to offer their students the best system available by working together on seminars, events, training camps and tournaments. Martial art organisations and schools who join the Alliance can either stay independent or take advantage of working together with guest instructors or they can join an organisation within the Alliance to cooperate more intensely.
The Objectives of 'The Alliance'
The main aim of the Alliance is that people come together for knowledge and friendship without trying to control each other for the benefits of the system the instructors and students. At present the main interest in the Alliance is from WT and Escrima organisations however, the Alliance teaches and has contacts and training with BJJ, Shoot-Fighting, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kick-boxing and Tae Kwon Do.
The Skills of 'The Alliance'
There is a wealth of knowledge and skill on offer to those that are interested in joining the Alliance all the founder members are Master Levels and have more than twenty-five years experience each in martial arts and have trained with the best. There will be no secrets or years and years of waiting at high costs, only honest devoted training will be given aimed at the ability and dedication of its members.
Currently we offer our complete systems of WT (including fighter fit training) and Escrima including Police and Security Programmes complemented with Blade Awareness Programmes and many people are showing an interest to train with our Ground-Fighting Programmes and with our many experienced contacts in these fields too.
We currently consult and hold seminars for the Police and Security Forces in Denmark, Sweden and Germany (with the SEK, GS9, BGS, LKA) and in Austria (for COBRA) and many more Specialised Organisations now contact us for advice.
In addition to this we hold regular tournaments with several World and European Champions on hand to teach, train and advise potential competitors.
For those of you that are interested in European Historical Martial Arts we offer teaching in a variety of swords, shields, pole-arms, axes, staffs and much more via The European Historical Combat Guild as taught by John Waller of 'The Royal Armouries' (UK) based on over thirty years of research.
For the health conscience amongst you we offer Chi Kung, Tai Chi, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Body Therapy and we can also provide Treatment, Training and Study in 'The Stanley Rosenberg Institute'.
Who are the Founding Members of 'The Alliance' and their 'Partners?'
Originally it started as an Escrima Alliance but too many good people with wonderful attitudes became involved to create something far superior. This became 'The Alliance' and a committee was formed by:
Master Steve Tappin (UK) and his Instructor Team
Dai-Sifu Allan Jensen , Sifu Lars Lind and Sifu Henning Daverne (Denmark)
Sifu Benno Westra and Sifu Gordon Cheung (Holland) and their Instructor Team
However, without the help and input of their partners, instructors, students and friends this would not have been possible and so we acknowledge the following in establishing the harmony within the Alliance:
Master Steve Tappin (Chief-Instructor of Europe for Escrima Concepts) with Master Stephen Kinvig, Paul Leslie, Nic Osei, John Morgan and Sifu Mik Lane (UK), Sifu Lars Lind (Associate Member) all are also Senior Teachers or Teachers in The European Historical Combat Guild. Backed up with the support of their Instructor Teams from Escrima and the Guild.
Dai-Sifu Allan Jensen, Sifu Henning Daverne and Sifu Lars Lind (Chief Instructors for Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Estonia) together with Sifu Morten Ibsen and their Instructor Teams in Wing Tsun Concepts and Escrima Concepts.
Sifu Benno Westra and Sifu Gordon Cheung (Chief-Instructors in Holland teaching UCT and Ving Tsun Kung Fu) both have studied and taught in other martial arts and Sifu Benno was also a very successful competition fighter with many first place awards. They too are fully supported by their Instructor Teams.
Master of the 'Guild' John Waller, Senior Teachers; Jonathan Waller and Steve Tappin, Teachers; Stephen Kinvig and Lars Lind representing The European Historical Combat Guild and their Instructor Teams.
We have a well trained and experienced health and fitness team and hundreds of other martial art instructors and tournament officials who support and train within the Alliance and our apologies for not being able to mention them all but the list would be endless.
Where are 'The Alliance' Represented?
We currently have organisations, instructors and clubs in many countries which are:
England, Scotland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Slavakia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Holland, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Tunisia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
We also have friends who wish for support from the Alliance from Eastern and Western Europe and from New Zealand and Australia too.
The Future
The Alliance is rapidly developing into a strong group of martial artists whose main common goal is to improve their skills and abilities through, for a large part, strong friendship-ties. There are no boundaries we cannot cross with free-thinking and honest and direct teaching with a fresh and much needed new approach to teaching martial arts.
In the near future we anticipate many good hard working and highly-trained martial art instructors to bring their experiences to the Alliance for the mutual benefit of all current and future members.
Things to look forward too are week and weekend fast-track programmes for potential instructors in our full-time academies in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Germany. Weekends for Escrima only in the UK and courses in Holland as from March 2004.
Regular Alliance training/holiday camps will be run in Scandinavia, Italy and Germany with some new destinations to follow for those who really enjoy their holidays mixed with martial art training.
We have World and European Escrima Concepts Tournaments in Denmark every November – with tournaments throughout the year in Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
