Master Steve was invited to give an Escrima Concepts Seminar in Naples by Sifu Benno Westra (from Holland) Head of UCT and representative of Escrima Concepts. Our host for the weekend was Chief-Instructor UCT-Italy Sifu Pietro d’Alesio who has been working hard to promote our arts. Travelling with Sifu Benno was his Todai Pele Nguyen, Sihing Peter de Vries and students Michael and Julian. Master Steve was accompanied by his son Wayne. Everyone met on Friday evening for a great night out where Sifu Luccio kept everyone entertained with his tricks and personality.

Saturday was for private lessons and special classes and for Escrima Concepts Peter, Michael and Julian concentrated on some syllabus and theory helped by Wayne. Sifu Benno with Pele and Sifu Pietro gave special classes in UCT Wing Tsun Concepts at the same time. Also training was Sifu Paulo Bonucci and Sifu Marco Mattioni who drove from Rome to Naples with one of their students to support the weekend. Another good night out was enjoyed to relax before Sundays big event.
The morning started with Escrima Concepts and many students attended to see what the difference was between Escrima Concepts and other systems that they have seen before. They saw its was effective, informative and enjoyable and the students worked hard and showed talent.
Later Sifu Benno taught an excellent class and it is obvious for all to see that there is great potential in Naples to grow in both arts thanks to the work of Sifu Pietro and his instructors. |
